The Fountain of the Lloyd Austriaco di Navigazione building
The building of the Lloyd Austriaco di Navigazione, later Lloyd Triestino, is now the Palazzo della Regione in Piazza Unità d’Italia.
The Renaissance palace was built between 1881 and 1883, based on a project by the architect Heinrich von Ferste.
On the sides of the main facade there are two fountains (which for many years have been only statues): Venus, representing salt water, and Teti for fresh water.
