Sguardo in su ... Trieste
by Bertus
Very often I find myself walking the streets of Trieste
with my head immersed in a set of thoughts and
when I happen to look upwards I am struck by the
thousand and one architectural details that I seemed
to have never noticed.
This sensation is even more emphasized in the
presence of that sky dotted with white clouds that
manage to increase the contrast of the gray of the
white stone.
And it is in this position that I can savor the
Habsburg climate of the late nineteenth century of
this city.

Phrases that inspired me:

"Our eyes are made to see shapes in light: shadows and lights reveal shapes ..." (Le Corbusier)

"Architecture is a fact of art, a phenomenon that arouses emotion, beyond construction problems, beyond them. Construction is to keep up: Architecture is to move" (Le Corbusier)

"Architecture is the art of arranging and adorning buildings, raised by man for any purpose, so that their simple view can contribute to health, strength, enjoyment of the spirit" (John Ruskin)

"Architecture is the wise, rigorous and magnificent play of volumes under the light" (Le Corbusier)
